UNDP is committed to a human rights-based approach (HRBA) to development.  Human rights and HRBA are reflected throughout the PSRC’s work.  In addition to “increased commitment to right-based development and human rights” being one of the core components of the PSRC’s democratic governance practice area, human rights issues are also integral to the other 5 governance focus  areas.
The PSRC’s justice and human rights programme provides governments, civil society and UNDP country office operating throughout the Pacific with:

  • Policy research analysis and advocacy,
  • programme development and technical support,
  • policy advice and
  • capacity development and training.

The PSRC is now a leading development partner in the Pacific on human rights based approaches to development and is an important stakeholder on human rights issues in the Pacific. The PSRC works with a range of stakeholders: governments, NGOs and regional organizations to strengthen national and regional commitment to human rights by Pacific Island Leaders in the Pacific Plan.

I have a dream-Going in sync with Martin Luther King Jr

I have a dream
That the young would
Break away from
Preconceived and misjudged Prejudice
That they would come together
And join hands
As one...
